What type of warranty do you provide
All work carries a 100% Good Workmanship Warrantee.
For example: If I install a window, my warrantee is on the installation of the window. The window manufacture has a warrantee for the window itself.
Can I help you with the building process?
No. If you were to help you would then be considered an employee and need to be covered by insurance and all the other liability that comes with hiring employees. The state is very specific on who is an employee and who is an independent contractor.
Can I buy the material?
Typically No. To many variables and loss involved. What if the product doesn’t fit or is damaged? Who picks up or delivers the products. Will you pay for the loss of time, travel and rescheduling? I obtain all needed materials. If incorrect or damaged, then I incur the cost for replacement and time lost with no cost to you.
Can I keep the old material?
Absolutely. For example: Replace an old door, window or cabinets for new. You can absolutely keep the old materials. Just let me know before the project starts. Be aware that it is sometimes not possible to remove materials without damaging them.
Do you use subcontractors?
Yes. There are certain trades that need additional licensing such as plumbers, electricians, and HVAC. There are other specialty trades that might need to be utilized to ensure the end results is of the highest quality workmanship. Nobody can do everything but a good team can do great things.
What are the rates of your services?
Every project is unique and has many variables. I bid by the project.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. All contractors or tradespersons’ must be registered (licensed) with the state of Washington, have insurance and be bonded. I highly recommend you verify anyone who will be providing any services.
You can look up and verify any contractor or tradespersons’ at www.lni.wa.gov.
How does the process work?
First, contact me via phone call, text, email or the form on the website. Second, will be a visit to the site where the project will be. I’ll take measurements, pictures take notes. Third is the “estimate”. The estimate is a close price of what the final cost. If the estimate is good we move to the final “bid”. The final bid will have the exact materials, labor, timeline, payment schedule and is the exact price you pay.
Can I keep the leftover materials?
No. The price is for the installed materials only. Typically I have extra wood or other materials so I won’t need to make extra trips to the supplier. The extra’s either get returned or used in future projects.
Do you recycle?
100% Absolutely (when possible). If old materials are usable they will be donated or given away for reuse. I try to keep as much stuff out of the landfill as possible.
What payments do you accept?
I accept: Checks, Cash and ACH (online check). Also, there isn’t any “discount” if you pay cash.
